Humpty Humpers - 1988

Wrote for luck or fondly known as just WFL, is arguably the best song they ever wrote. Thumping bass backed by howling loutish vocals make this a winner in my book:

Wrote For Luck [single]

7"/12"/CD Factory Records
Released October 1988

1. Wrote For Luck*
2. Wrote For Luck (Dance Mix)
3. Wrote For Luck (Radio Mix)
4. Wrote For Luck (Club Mix)
5. Boom

*only available on 7"

Reportedly high on E's, they recorded their next album, 'Bummed' and released probably their best ever single, “Wrote For Luck”. It was produced by Mancunian legend Martin Hannett, it featured Shaun's football fan loutish singing style. They were apparently readily taking ecstasy openly and are widely credited for introducing it to the UK dance scene after a trip over to Ibiza. Handing it out at the door of their gigs, soon helped establish them among hard core party goers.

Bummed [album]

12"/CD/MC Factory Records
Released November 1988

1. Some Cunt From Preston (Country Song)
2. Moving In With
3. Mad Cyril
4. Fat Lady Wrestlers
5. Performance
6. Brain Dead
7. Wrote Far Luck
8. Bring A Friend
9. Do It Better
10. Lazyitis

Some Cunt From Preston has to be one of the funniest names for a song you are ever going to come across - everyone knows some sad cunt from Preston - goes with the territory as they say.
